Setting up PhonePe in PremiumPress
Activate the free plugin, then open your theme’s payment settings and add your PhonePe credentials:
- Merchant ID — Your PhonePe merchant id (MID). Use the sandbox MID while Mode is Test.
- Salt key — The API salt key used to sign requests (X-VERIFY).
- Salt index — The key index that pairs with the salt key (usually 1).
Amounts are sent in paise (major × 100). One-time payments only — PhonePe AutoPay/subscriptions are not enabled in this flow. The plugin requires PremiumPress 12.

What do I need to set up PhonePe in WordPress?
You'll need a PhonePe account and its Merchant ID, Salt key and Salt index, which you enter in your PremiumPress theme's payment settings. The plugin itself is free for members.
Does PhonePe support recurring subscriptions?
PhonePe handles one-off payments in PremiumPress. If you need recurring billing, choose a gateway shown under the Subscriptions filter on the plugins page.
How does the PhonePe checkout work?
Real one-time payments via the PhonePe PG (hosted Pay Page) API, with authoritative status verification and a signed S2S callback. One-time only (PhonePe AutoPay is out of scope).
