ListingPro Alternatives in 2026: Six Directory Themes and Plugins Compared
By Mark Fail · · Updated

ListingPro is the best-selling directory theme on ThemeForest, with 33,145 sales and a 4.84 rating, and for a single Yelp-style city directory it is still a sensible buy. But it is not the right theme for everyone, and the people searching for a ListingPro alternative usually have one of three specific reasons.
This guide covers those reasons honestly, then compares the six alternatives that come up most often: Listeo, MyListing, the PremiumPress Directory Theme, Directorist, GeoDirectory and ListingHive. ListingPro itself is in the table so you can see exactly what you would be trading. Every price and figure was checked on 10 September 2026 against the vendor's own page, and the sources are listed at the end.
Why people look for ListingPro alternatives
One site per licence. The $69 Regular licence covers a single directory. If you plan a second city, a second niche or client work, each one is another purchase. Buyers who want to run several directories tend to look at Directorist, GeoDirectory or the PremiumPress Directory Theme, all of which offer unlimited-site options.
Weight and speed. ListingPro is a large theme, and a recurring complaint in reviews is that it runs slowly on budget shared hosting. Lighter options such as ListingHive, or a plugin-based build, are the usual response.
Security history and design. In September 2024 the security firm Patchstack disclosed SQL-injection flaws in ListingPro 2.9.3 and earlier, two of them exploitable without logging in, fixed in version 2.9.5. It has to be kept patched, and its front end is functional rather than modern. Buyers who want a more contemporary look usually end up at MyListing or Listeo.
ListingPro alternatives at a glance
| Theme | Price | Sites | Payments built in | Extra plugins | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| ListingPro | $69 | 1 | Yes (Stripe, PayPal, 2Checkout) | None | The theme being replaced |
| Listeo | $119 | 1 | Via WooCommerce | WooCommerce | Bookings |
| MyListing | $119 | 1 | Via WooCommerce | WooCommerce | Modern design |
| PremiumPress Directory | $99 one-time | Unlimited | Yes (30+ incl. PayPal, Stripe) | None | Pay once, several sites |
| Directorist | Free; $116–$153/yr | 1 to unlimited | Paid plan (PayPal, Stripe) | Paid extensions | Multiple directories |
| GeoDirectory | Free; $49–$229/yr | 1 to unlimited | Paid add-on + GetPaid/WooCommerce | 2–3 add-ons | Very large directories |
| ListingHive | Free; extensions $29–$39 each or $99/yr | Unlimited | Via WooCommerce | HivePress extensions | Zero budget |
All seven support paid listings and claim-a-listing; the difference is whether that works out of the box or needs WooCommerce or a paid add-on.
Listeo

Listeo is the alternative to pick when the reason you are leaving ListingPro is bookings. It ships with its own booking engine for hourly slots, daily rentals and event tickets with QR code check-in, plus private messaging, AI-assisted search and a multi-vendor mode with commission splits.
Coming from ListingPro, you give up two things: the built-in checkout, because every Listeo payment, even a plain paid listing, runs through WooCommerce, and $50, because Listeo is $119 against ListingPro's $69. In return you get the best-reviewed theme in the category, a perfect 5.0 from 453 ThemeForest ratings across 11,624 sales.
Pros
- Real booking engine with calendars, time slots and ticketing included in the price
- Highest average rating of any theme in this list
- AI review summaries and semantic search built in
- Multi-vendor marketplace mode
Cons
- $119, the highest price here for one site
- Needs WooCommerce for all payments
- Booking features are more than a plain business directory needs
- One site per licence, the same limit as ListingPro
MyListing

MyListing is where ListingPro buyers go when the complaint is the design. Every listing type, page and search form is built visually in Elementor, so it produces the most modern-looking directories of the group and is flexible enough for events, property and jobs as well as businesses.
The catch for a ListingPro user is the money side. Where ListingPro takes Stripe or PayPal itself, MyListing hands claims, promotions and paid plans to WooCommerce, and recurring billing needs WooCommerce Subscriptions as well. It sells for $119 per site and is the runner-up to ListingPro on sales, 21,733 of them, averaging 4.8 from more than 1,000 ratings.
Pros
- Best-looking front end of the alternatives
- Second-largest sales count after ListingPro, so plenty of community help
- Flexible listing types for more than business directories
- Very frequent updates
Cons
- $119 plus WooCommerce, plus WooCommerce Subscriptions for recurring plans
- Steeper learning curve than ListingPro
- One site per licence
- Elementor-heavy pages need caching to stay fast
PremiumPress Directory Theme

PremiumPress Directory Theme is a $99 one-time WordPress theme with paid listings, claim listings and PayPal/Stripe payments built in, so no extra directory plugins are needed. It is the closest match to ListingPro's all-in-one approach, with the two things ListingPro buyers most often ask for: unlimited installs on sites you own, and 30 or more payment gateways without WooCommerce.
Against ListingPro the arithmetic is simple: $30 more for the first directory, and nothing for the second, third or tenth. Design help comes from an AI site builder and more than 200 Elementor blocks rather than a fixed demo. Six months of updates and support are included, with renewal optional at $49 per six months, and a 10-day refund covers the purchase. The weak spot is evidence: 23 product-page reviews, all five stars but older, where ListingPro has about 2,500 ratings.
Pros
- Paid listings, claim-a-listing, memberships and 30+ gateways built in, no add-ons
- One-time price and unlimited installs, so a second directory costs nothing
- AI site builder plus 200+ Elementor blocks
- 10-day refund and a low five-year cost
Cons
- Far fewer public reviews than ListingPro, and the product-page reviews are older
- No built-in booking engine
- Default design is plainer than MyListing until you use the AI builder or the blocks
- Updates after the first six months cost $49 per six months if you want them
Directorist

Directorist answers ListingPro's one-site limit from the plugin side. Instead of one directory per licence, it runs several separate directories on a single WordPress install, each with its own fields, categories and pricing, on top of whatever theme you like.
The trade is a yearly bill where ListingPro charges once. The free core cannot take card payments or claims; a paid plan adds PayPal, Stripe and claiming, at $116 a year for one site up to $153 a year for unlimited sites, or $379 to $749 as a lifetime licence. It is the most installed directory plugin here, with 20,000-plus active installs and a 4.6 average from 697 WordPress.org ratings.
Pros
- Several directories on one site, each with its own plans and gateways
- Free core on WordPress.org
- Lifetime licences avoid renewals
- Works with the theme you already have
Cons
- The free version cannot take online payments or claims
- Annual plans renew every year unless you buy lifetime
- Plugin plus theme plus extensions is more to update
- Design depends on the theme you pair it with
GeoDirectory

GeoDirectory is the alternative for directories that will outgrow a theme. It keeps listings in its own optimised database tables, which is why it copes with hundreds of thousands of entries where theme-based directories struggle, and the data stays with the plugin if you change theme later.
What ListingPro does in one purchase, GeoDirectory does in pieces. Paid listings are a Pricing Manager add-on at $49 a year for one site or $99 a year for any number of sites, claiming is a second add-on, and the payment itself goes through GetPaid or WooCommerce; buying every add-on costs $229 a year. The free plugin rates 4.8 from 715 reviews on WordPress.org and has more than 10,000 active installs.
Pros
- Built for very large directories
- Listings are independent of your theme
- Unlimited-site Pricing Manager at $99 a year
- Updated within days of each other
Cons
- Two paid add-ons plus a payments plugin to monetise
- $229 a year for the full bundle
- More setup than any theme here
- Free version cannot charge for listings or claims
ListingHive

ListingHive is the free alternative. The theme, claim listings, favourites, messaging, geolocation and reviews all cost nothing, and it is lighter than ListingPro, which answers the performance complaint directly.
To charge the way ListingPro does out of the box, you add WooCommerce, which HivePress uses for every card payment, and the free Paid Listings extension. Extras such as Marketplace or Bookings are $39 each as one-off, single-site licences, or $99 a year covers every HivePress extension and theme.
Pros
- Launch a working directory for $0
- Lightweight and fast on modest hosting
- Claim listings included free
- Block-editor friendly
Cons
- Charging for listings adds WooCommerce, which ListingPro avoids
- Payments need WooCommerce
- Minimal default design
- Only 19 reviews on WordPress.org to judge it by
Final Thoughts: which ListingPro alternative should you pick?
If the problem is the single-site licence: PremiumPress Directory Theme. $99 once covers unlimited sites you own, and paid listings and gateways are built in the way ListingPro's are. Directorist's Agency plan at $153 a year is the plugin route to the same outcome.
If the problem is speed on cheap hosting: ListingHive. It is the lightest option and free, adding WooCommerce and the HivePress extensions you need when you start charging.
If the problem is the design: MyListing at $119, accepting WooCommerce for payments.
If you need bookings: Listeo at $119, the only option with a booking engine in the base price.
If the directory will get very large: GeoDirectory, with the $99-a-year unlimited-site Pricing Manager.
If none of those apply: stay with ListingPro. At $69 with 33,145 sales it remains the safest single-site buy, and switching themes is work.
